Arriving By Air
Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport is located 12 miles from downtown Minneapolis. Follow signs in the Lindbergh Terminal (named after Minnesota's own Charles Lindbergh) for ground transportation.
From the Airport
- Taxi:
The one-way fare from the airport to downtown Minneapolis is approximately $22.00 and takes about 20 minutes.
- Airport Shuttles:
Express Shuttle/Coach USA service is from the airport to all major hotels with departures every half-hour. The cost is $13.00 one-way and $20.00 round trip. No reservation needed. Customer service is located at carousel #8 in the baggage claim area of the airport.
- Bus:
Metro Transit bus departs from the upper level roadway every 15-20 minutes. Take the 54, 7 or 4 bus from the airport--these stop at the Mall of America where riders must transfer to the 180 bus at Gate #1 (the Bus Transit Center is in the east parking ramp of the Mall). The 180 bus takes you close to the convention center area. Bus fares range from $1.25 to $2.25. Exact change is required.

Arriving By Rail
Amtrak (800-872-7245; 651-644-6012) serves the Twin Cities. The depot is centrally located between Minneapolis and St. Paul. A taxi is the most convenient transportation from the depot.

Getting Around:
- Metro Transit bus
Metro Transit operates a Transit Store downtown Minneapolis at 719 Marquette Avenue. You can purchase SuperSaver Value Cards or Tokens, obtain schedules, and get specific route information.
Destinations:
- Route #7 for downtown Minneapolis, Mall of America, and Fort Snelling
- Route #16 for downtown Minneapolis, University of MN, St. Paul, and the State Capitol
- Route #94 Express (B, C, or D) between Minneapolis and St. Paul
- Route #180 to Mall of America (this bus runs every 15-30 minutes; catch the bus on Nicollet Mall or Grant St. near the convention center)

Downtown Zone
Ride any Metro Transit bus within the Downtown Zone for only $.50. It is an inexpensive way to reach most downtown stores and restaurants. Exact change is required.
- Minneapolis RiverCity Trolley
The Trolley runs every 20 minutes; hours are 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, and 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. weekends and holidays. Catch the trolleys at St. Anthony Main, the Walker Art Center or the Minneapolis Convention Center, or at any of the stops along the route identified by colorful trolley signs.
