Orlando and Central Florida - VIRTUAL TOUR
The closest beach to Orlando is Cocoa Beach - the "World's Most Famous Beach" - just a short 35 minute drive from the Orange County Convention Center. Home to the original Mercury astronauts (and locale for the popular '60s television sitcom, I Dream of Jeannie), Cocoa Beach is just south of the Kennedy Space Center. Take a drive along scenic AIA, and enjoy lunch at one of the many quaint beachfront restaurants. Nature lovers should include a visit to the nearby Canaveral National Seashore and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. No trip to Cocoa Beach is complete without a visit to Ron Jon's Surf Shop. The world's largest surf shop is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with over 52,000 square feet of beach and resort wear, merchandise, and souvenirs. Included in the Conference Excursions is a "Narrated" Day at Cocoa Beach on Saturday, July 20th.
