Law Library Journal Editor James Duggan has notified AALL that he will end his term as editor in July 2018 with the completion of volume 110. In preparation for his departure, AALL will conduct a search for the next editor—a volunteer position that comes with an honorarium. The appointment has a five-year term and is renewable.

The editor is responsible for selecting and editing content for each quarterly issue of Law Library Journal. The editor also serves as an ex-officio member of the Law Library Journal Board of Editors. 
The qualified candidate must have a bachelor's degree and MLS and/or JD; demonstrated ability as a writer and/or editor; excellent communication and negotiation skills; substantial experience in the law library profession; and membership in AALL with a record of involvement and active participation.

Applications will be accepted until May 22, and interviews will be conducted virtually in June. To help with the transition, the candidate selected will begin in September 2017, working with Duggan until July 2018.
