What Did You Miss? 2008 AALL Annual Meeting Chapter Leadership Training

The 2008 AALL Annual Meeting in Portland definitely lived up to its theme: Energize, Explore, Evolve. If you weren't able to attend the Chapter Leadership Training, some handouts from the training are available on AALLNET.

The energizing, exploring and evolving shouldn't stop in Portland though. Refer back to these materials as well as all the other fabulous chapter leadership materials available on AALLNET whenever you find yourself needing some guidance.

Help the Washington Affairs Office Help You

Each month, the Washington Affairs Office (WAO) publishes its Washington E-Bulletin, filled with updates from the WAO, policy briefs, chapter news, and links to articles of interest. AALL Advocacy Communications Assistant Emily Feldman is the contact point for chapter submissions to the E-Bulletin. If you have chapter news that you'd like to share with the broader AALL community, please send it to Emily for inclusion in future editions of the bulletin.

Don't Delay: Schedule Your AALL Chapter Visit Today

It's never too early to start thinking about a chapter visit by an AALL Executive Board member! Ever since AALL began paying for all expenses involved with a Board visit, this is a fabulous opportunity for any chapter. If your chapter is interested in inviting a member of the AALL Board to a meeting, please complete the chapter visit request form and submit it to Kim Rundle at AALL Headquarters. If you want a visit this year, please send in your request at least four weeks prior to your meeting date. The chapter visits request form can be found on AALLNET.

Please note that the Fall AALL Board meeting is scheduled for October 23-24, and no Board member will be available during that time. The Spring meeting will be held April 16-17, 2009.

Have You Checked Your AALL Chapter Roster Lately?

Please visit your chapter's roster and ensure it is updated with correct information for your current officers and executive board members. The rosters are available on AALLNET.

If your chapter's roster needs to be updated, you can send the new information to Kim Rundle.

Chapter News That You Can Use

Remember to check out the AALLNET news page with chapter, committee and member news.

And, don't forget to let other chapters know what your chapter is up to by submitting your chapter news to Diane D'Angelo.

Chapter Bylaws Aren't Scary

At least they aren't scary when someone else will review them for you! Chapter bylaws must be reviewed by the AALL Bylaws Committee before they are submitted for approval by the chapter. More information about bylaws is also available for your review.

Sincerely,

Jennifer S. Murray
