Chapter Visits

It's not too early to plan a chapter visit. Just fill out the chapter visit request form and return it to Kim Rundle. Go to the Chapter Visit page on AALLNET to find information on policies and procedures for chapter visits. Chapter visits are a great way to keep up with national issues and to network with the Board. Remember that AALL will pay the visitor's travel expenses, so the visit is at no or very low cost to your chapter.

Chapter Liability Insurance

The deadline to purchase chapter liability insurance for your chapter is right around the corner. Your check for $1.00 times the number of chapter members on October 1, 2010, along with the insurance form will be due to AALL on October 20. For more information please contact Paula Davidson, AALL's Director of Finance and Administration.

Chapter Treasurer Training

Paula Davidson, AALL Director of Finance and Administration, will conduct virtual Chapter Treasurer Training on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM, central time. Materials and participation information will be sent to all Treasurers soon. Please encourage your treasurers to participate!

AALL Board Meeting

The fall AALL Board Meeting will be November 4-6 in Chicago . Although the deadline has passed for submitting agenda items, please let me know if you have any issues that need to be addressed.

Continuing Education Grants

Applications for the next round of grants from the AALL/BNA Continuing Education Grants Program are due on November 4. Visit the grant information page for more information and fill out the grant application.

The next round of grant proposals will be due on February 24, 2011.

Annual Meeting Planning

All chapter presidents should have received a memo from Pam Reisinger outlining the scheduling changes recommended by the Annual Meeting Review Special Committee. It is important that the Chapters are aware of these changes in advance so they can better plan for the Annual Meeting. Scheduling forms (coming in late October) will now be due to AALL on December 1 instead of November 1, as AALL allowed an extra month for program proposals to arrive.

Chapter Rosters

Another reminder to please visit your chapter's roster and ensure it is updated with correct information for your current officers and executive board members. The rosters are available on AALLNET. Some chapters show no information for 2010-2011.

If your chapter's roster needs to be updated, you can send the new information to Kim Rundle.

Sincerely,

Diane Rodriguez
Chapter Council President
