Jointly established by AALL and member Marcia J. Koslov, this
scholarship is directed at members who serve as librarians in state,
court or county libraries. This scholarship provides funding for members
to attend live seminars and conferences presented by the Institute for
Court Management, the Center for Legal and Court Technology, the Equal
Justice Conference or other programs that provide continuing education
for state, court or county law librarians. This scholarship is not intended for use at the AALL Annual Conference. For questions regarding appropriate educational programs, please contact Hannah Phelps at (312) 205-8022 or membership@aall.org.
Impetus for the establishment of the scholarship is Koslov's view
that law librarians should be counted among the managers and leaders in
the organization in which they work. Attending these live programs, she
believes, will help librarians develop the skills necessary to become
leaders and decision makers.
Application Information
Candidates who apply for the Marcia J. Koslov /AALL Scholarship must be a current member of AALL, and provide the following information:
- Submit a copy of the seminar or conference information, which
provides detail as to the content, faculty and educational goals of the
program. Be sure that it also provides the registration and/or other
fees necessary for attendance.
- Submit a statement explaining why the applicant wants to pursue
continuing professional education and why the live seminar or conference
they are interested in attending will meet their objectives. The

to receive from attendance.
