Register for AALL’s February Webinar—C-ing is Believing: Next Steps for Library Success
Communication plays an important role in our daily lives. It is key to our success with C-level management (CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, etc.). Log in to C-ing is Believing: Next Steps for Library Success on Tuesday, February 17, from 12-1 p.m. (EST), and learn how a librarian should interact with the C-people to earn their respect and provide a clear understanding of the value the law library brings to their organization. Register online by February 12.
Spring Chapter Visits
If you are planning to have an AALL Executive Board member visit your chapter this Spring and have not submitted your request yet, you will want to do that as soon as possible to be sure there is availability. To schedule a chapter visit, please complete the chapter visit request form and submit it to Kim Rundle at AALL Headquarters. Chapter visit requests need to be submitted at least four weeks prior to your meeting date. The chapter visits request form can be found on AALLNET. The Spring AALL Executive Board Meeting will be held April 16-17, 2009, and no visits can occur during that time.
Chapter Registration Awards
Ten chapters are eligible for chapter registration awards for the 2009 annual meeting. If you are one of the lucky chapters, you should have received or soon be receiving a letter from AALL explaining the process. In the meantime AzALL, CoALL, DALL, HALL, LLOPS, MAALL, NOCALL, SCALL, SWALL and WestPac can think about how you want to advertise the award to your members.
Council Chair for 2009-2010
Now is the time for outgoing presidents to think about entering their names in nomination for the 2009-2010 Chair of the Council of Chapter Presidents. Among the responsibilities of the position is serving as the representative of the Council at the four AALL Executive Board meetings during your term, organizing programs for the 2010 AALL annual meeting in Denver, and communicating with the 31 chapter presidents and vice presidents on issues affecting the chapters. More information on the role of the Council Chair is available on AALLNET.
Watch for a separate announcement soliciting nominations for this position. You can put your name in nomination if you will be the immediate past chapter president or incumbent president due to retire from office by October 31, 2009. Nominations are due by February 13, 2009, and ballots will be sent electronically to Council members (one vote per chapter) by March 13, 2009.
