Continuing Education Grants
The second round of proposals for the AALL/Bloomberg Continuing Education Grants Program (CEGP) are due to AALL Headquarters on November 7. The purpose of the CEGP is to encourage program development and to promote sharing among AALL entities. The AALL/Bloomberg grants program is open to AALL HQ, chapters, SIS's, member institutions, caucuses, and individual AALL members.
Chapter Match Initiative
In May 2013, then chair of the Council of Chapter Presidents, Holly Riccio announced the launch of AALL Chapter Match: Prepare 2 Partner. The purpose of this program is to help Chapters successfully partner with other legal organizations and to share information about their efforts. Holly prepared an excellent FAQ on the program that you can find here.
AALL Events Calendar
Don't forget to post your Chapter's activities on the AALL Events Calendar! Upcoming events this month include The Law of E-books on October 24, a webinar made possible by a grant from the AALL/Bloomberg Continuing Education Grants Program (information about applying for a grant is below); SANDALL Chapter Meeting on October 25, and "Advocating at the State Level: Tips and Tricks for Success" presented by the AALL Government Relations Office on October 29.
AALL Executive Board Meeting
The 2013 Fall AALL Board Meeting will be held on November 1-2 in Chicago. Although the deadline has passed for submitting agenda items, please let me know if you have any issues that need to be addressed. Also, please remember to check the 2013 Executive Board Books and Minutes page on AALLNET for the latest board book. Reading through this document is a great way to stay abreast of the issues that the Board is considering and discussing.
2014 AALL Annual Meeting Planning
Chapter presidents will be receiving a memo from Pam Reisinger outlining the scheduling and planning process for chapter events at the AALL Annual Meeting taking place in San Antonia from July 12-15, 2013. The memo should be going out in November and will be due back to AALL sometime in December. If your Chapter is not planning to sponsor any activities, simply check the box by "We WILL NOT be holding a function at the Annual Meeting," and return the form by the deadline.
