As
I make final preparations for
the Seattle Annual Meeting, I
am reminded of just how quickly
the year has passed. It has been
a year filled with challenges,
excitement and hard work for me,
and for the countless volunteers
who make this Association so rewarding
and fulfilling. I will cherish
the memories of meeting and working
with so many of you. Serving as
a volunteer for AALL is a fantastic
experience!
For those of you attending the
Annual Meeting, I look forward
to seeing you there. The Annual
Meeting Program Committee has
put together a fantastic array
of educational programs; the Special
Interest Sections, AALL Committees
and Chapters have planned their
agendas and the receptions are
certain to provide lots of fun
opportunities to nibble and network.
And of course, the Exhibit Hall
will be a “must stop”
destination. The Seattle Local
Advisory Committee and AALL staff
are ready to show you a wonderful
time in Seattle! Travel safely.
For those of you who will not
be in Seattle, I trust that you
will enjoy the summer and take
advantage of the myriad of other
educational opportunities AALL
provides throughout the year.
Once again, thank you for the
opportunity to serve as AALL’s
president this year, and thank
you for your encouragement and
support.
Mark
your calendars now for the next
Joint Study Institute entitled 'Australia
and New Zealand: Access to the World'
to be held 20-23 February 2004 in
Sydney, Australia at the Women's
College, University of Sydney. The
2004 JSI will be hosted by the Australian
Law Librarians’ Group. More
information is available here
Please note: Due
to the annual meeting, the next
edition of From the Desk Of …
will appear July 24th.
In
last week’s message, AALL
mistakenly reported that Toni Aiello
and Barbara Traub work at New York
University. They are both employed
at St. John’s University,
where Julius Marke serve as Distinguished
Research Professor until his death.
