Listserv Discussion on the 2003 ABA Questionnaire

As an academic law librarian, do you find yourself puzzling over some of the questions asked in the ABA annual questionnaire? Have you spent time commiserating with colleagues on why certain statistics are gathered or why it seems possible to answer the questions in more than one way? Did you know that there are changes in the ABA 2003 Annual Questionnaire?

The changes to the ABA 2003 Annual Questionnaire seem to be on everyone's mind. Now we have the opportunity to share our questions and comments about the changes with one another.

AALL will be holding a free listserv discussion on this topic September 15-29, 2003, and the discussion should be interesting. You are invited to join in. To do so, just click here to subscribe. If that is a problem contact Pam Deemer.

The good news is that the discussion is just for two weeks, beginning September 15, but after that the listserv subscribers will be purged; you will not be subscribing to a permanent listserv that will fill your mailbox with mail for ever and ever.

Join in, and hear what your colleagues will be talking about for those two weeks.

Keep an Eye Out

In the next few weeks you will receive an email from Vice President Tory Trotta asking you to volunteer for an AALL committee. I hope you will do so. Why? Because volunteering helps you

  • make important networking contacts
  • learn or develop leadership skills
  • gain work experience
  • build self-esteem and self-confidence
  • improve your health
  • meet new people
  • think creatively

Perhaps most importantly, volunteering to serve AALL strengthens the profession for those who will follow in your footsteps.

Meet the Staff

Farewell and Welcome

Yesterday was AALL Publications Director, Maya Norris’, last day. We bid her a fond farewell and give her our best wishes in her career. We also give a warm welcome to Bonnie Smothers, the freelance editor who will keep our publications department on an even keel while we search for Maya’s replacement.

Sincerely,

Susan E. Fox, CAE
