The American Association of Law Libraries is pleased to announce the AALL Continuing Education Grants Program (CEGP), designed to encourage program development and promote sharing among AALL entities. The AALL grants program will make available funding to chapters, SISs, member institutions, and individual AALL members to assist in providing ongoing quality continuing education programming outside of the annual meeting.
Applications for Continuing Education Grants will be accepted for any amount and for the following purposes (including but not limited to):
- Start up funds for an innovative format such as a webinar or podcast
- Funding a partnership program between an SIS, Chapter, or Caucus
- Specific shortfall in program planner's budget for an already planned program for 2006-07
- Program content development of varying lengths
An online form for requests for educational programming funds will be available August 1, 2006 on AALLNET. Guidelines for program proposals and program evaluation criteria will be included. The deadline for receipt for the first round of proposal requests is Friday, September 8, 2006.
This is just the first round of what will be many opportunities to request funds for continuing education programming. The CEGP is a year-long program and grant proposals will be evaluated on a revolving basis throughout the year. The deadline for the second round of proposals will be announced later this year.
