 Today AALL welcomes Steve Ligda back to the Headquarters Staff. Steve has agreed to serve as Interim Executive Director on a part-time basis, starting this week and continuing until we can conduct a search and hire a new full-time Executive Director.
Steve previously served AALL for 11 years as Director of Finance and Administration, retiring from that position in August 2005. We are pleased that Steve was available and willing to come back on board to help us during this transition period.
 No matter how any of us feel about the results of last week’s federal and state elections, we can all be glad for an end to the campaign coverage and political advertising. But there is still one important election underway—for AALL officers and Executive Board members. The AALL Conduct of Election policy doesn’t allow campaigning but before you cast your online vote, you can read information about all the candidates on AALLNET. The deadline is Friday, December 1 — please don’t forget to vote!
If you'd like to be considered for service as an AALL committee member for 2007-08, there is still time - but the December 1 deadline for applying is rapidly approaching. The online Committee Volunteer Form is easy to complete and submit. And you can consult the complete list of AALL Committees on AALLNET to learn more about the charge and current activities of each of them.
