For Immediate Release
July 10, 2001

The recipient of the 2001 American Association of Law Libraries Best New Product Award is Hein-On-Line, a Web-based database of retrospective legal journals available at http://heinonline.org/.

Offered by William S. Hein & Co., Inc. of Buffalo, N.Y., Hein-On-Line was developed by Hein in collaboration with Cornell Information Technologies and Cornell Law Library. The publisher says that subscribers will have access to more than 225,000 law review articles and 3.5 million pages by the end of 2001. The AALL Best New Product Award recognizes innovative new products that enhance or improve access to legal information, the legal research process, or procedures for technical processing of library materials. A product is "new" if it has been in the library

The award will be presented during the 94th AALL Annual Meeting and Conference at the Association Luncheon July 16 in Minneapolis.
