For Immediate Release
August 30, 2001

Do you need a guide to collection development issues in today's environment of multiple formats and media? Then you'll want to register for the New Perspectives on Law Library Acquisitions and Collection Development workshop on Nov. 2 and 3 in Washington, D.C.

This two-day workshop examines the intricacies of selecting and purchasing legal information in an electronic world filled with various formats and media. Participants will examine the new technologies in the selection, collection development and acquisitions process; outsourcing options; and methods to conduct business with vendors now and how that may change in the future. Register online at http://www.aallnet.org/prodev/event_acquisitions.asp.

New Perspectives on Law Library Acquisitions and Collection Development addresses Specialized Competency 5: Collection Care and Management in the AALL Competencies of Law Librarianship. The complete Competencies of Law Librarianship can be found at http://www.aallnet.org/prodev/competencies.asp.
