Association Appoints New Editorial Director for AALL Spectrum

AALL member Paul Healey of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has been appointed as the new editorial director of AALL Spectrum, the Association magazine.

Working in conjunction with Maya Norris, Spectrum's managing editor and AALL director of publications, Healey is responsible for determining the editorial content for each issue of the monthly magazine. His duties include generating story ideas, soliciting potential authors and collaborating with authors to develop their articles. In this volunteer position, Healey will also serves as an ex-officio member of the Law Library Journal and AALL Spectrum Editorial Board and Advisory Committee to help guide the magazine's long-term editorial vision and direction.

"This is a great opportunity for me and a wonderful chance to serve AALL and the profession" Healey said. "I think Spectrum is a wonderful magazine, and it will fun to be a part of its continuing development."

Healey is currently the head of public services and associate professor of library administration at the Albert E. Jenner Jr. Memorial Law Library at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since he entered the profession in 1995, he has been actively involved in law librarianship and the Association. In particular, he has written numerous articles about law librarianship for several library publications, including AALL Spectrum and Law Library Journal.
