Listserv Discussion on Library System Migration Issues

For Immediate Release
November 1, 2001

Share your experiences and questions about migrating to new library systems. Join your colleagues for an in-depth listserv discussion on "Library Systems: What Criteria to Use When Migrating?" Nov. 5-9, sponsored by the American Association of Law Libraries.

Moderators Georgia Briscoe, associate director and head of technical services at the University of Colorado Law Library, and Jean Willis, associate director for information systems at the San Diego County Public Law Library, will lead an interactive discussion about what to look for and what to avoid when migrating to new systems. Participants will explore migrating issues such as why do it? When do you start? Where do you get information on what's available? How do you know what you want? Who needs to be involved in the process? How much consideration do you give to end user needs? How do you decide on a product? How do you migrate AND still accomplish your day job?

Learn the answers to these and other questions by signing up for this upcoming AALL Professional Development listserv. Ask your peers any questions you may have on the topic, and get honest and insightful answers.

To register for this discussion, visit AALLNET at http://www.aallnet.org/prodev/listserv.asp.

This listserv is an AALL Professional Development opportunity.
