Announces Winners of LexisNexis Scholarships
For Immediate Release

The American
Association of Law Libraries has awarded five law librarians enrolled
in advanced-degree programs either the LexisNexis/John R.
Johnson Memorial Scholarship or the LexisNexis/James F. Connolly
Academic and Library Solutions Scholarship.
The LexisNexis/John
R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship recognizes those law librarians
who have exhibited high academic achievement and assists those who
have expressed a desire to enter the field of law librarianship.
The recipients of the 2002 LexisNexis/John R. Johnson Memorial
Scholarships:
- Druet Cameron
Klugh will pursue her master's degree in library and information
science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign via
its distance-education program in July. She is a reference librarian
at the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Co. Klugh
earned a B.A. in East Asian languages and literature and later
a J.D. at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
- Christine
Kujawa will attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
in August for her M.S. in library and information science. She
currently works as the circulation manager at the University of
North Dakota Law Library in Grand Forks, N.D. Kujawa holds a bachelor's
degree in philosophy and religion from the University of North
Dakota.
- Heather Midkiff
is earning her master's degree in library science at The Catholic
University of America in Washington, D.C. She is a reference/computer
automation librarian at Hunton and Williams in Richmond, Va. Midkiff
holds a B.A. in history from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville,
Va., and an M.Ed. in counselor education from Washington and Lee
University in Lexington, Va.
- Jennifer
Sekula is an M.L.S. candidate at The Catholic University of America
in Washington, D.C., and a reference librarian at the Marshall-Wythe
Law Library at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg,
Va. She earned a J.D. at Vermont Law School in South Royalton,
Vt.
The LexisNexis/James
F. Connolly Academic and Library Solutions Scholarship is awarded
to a law librarian interested in pursuing a law degree. The recipient
of this year's LexisNexis/James F. Connolly Academic and Library
Solutions Scholarship:
- James Donovan
is a J.D. student at the Loyola Law School in New Orleans and
works at the Loyola Law Library. He holds an M.L.I.S. from Louisiana
State University.
Scholarship
winners will be recognized July 22 at the Association Annual Awards
Ceremony and Reception for Recipients and Contributors during the
2002 AALL Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla.
