Format
For Immediate Release
June 27, 2002
A private
firm library in New Orleans and a Texas law school library have
won the 2002 Law Library Publications Awards.
The library
at the firm of Jones Walker in New Orleans won the print category
for its monthly newsletter, @ the Library. Each issue of
the one-page newsletter contains an informative article on a subject,
a list of resources, Internet links of the month, and a "Q&A
Test Your Knowledge" department. The publication was cited
for its content, format, and layout consistency in each issue and
for the amount of creativity involved in its production.
The nonprint
category winner is the Tarlton Law Library at the University of
Texas School of Law for its Texas Constitutions Digitization
Project. In addition to reproducing the texts of the various
versions of the Texas Constitution, the Texas Constitutions
Digitization Project contains "The Historic Texas Constitution:
An Annotated Bibliography," a list of "Publications about
Texas Constitutional History" and links to related sites. It
is accessible at http://www.law.utexas.edu/constitutions.
The Law Library
Publications Awards honor achievement in creating in-house, user-oriented
library materials that are outstanding in quality and significance.
"Creating" in-house works may include but is not limited
to writing, compiling, or editing print or nonprint materials.
The awards will
be presented July 22 at the Association Annual Awards Ceremony and
Reception for Recipients and Contributors during the 2002 AALL Annual
Meeting in Orlando, Fla.
