Zipf
Fellowship Offers $8,000 in Financial Aid

The Council
on Library and Information Resources is offering a fellowship worth
$8,000 to a student planning a career in information management.
The A.R. Zipf
Fellowship is awarded annually to a student currently enrolled in
graduate school who shows promise for leadership and technical achievement
in information management. Students in information science, information
technology, engineering or business are eligible to apply.
The Zipf Fellowship
was established in honor of A.R. Zipf, a pioneer in information
management. Zipf invented the system all banks now use to route
financial information. During his career, he served on the Board
of Regents of the National Library of Medicine and at the National
Commission of Libraries and Information Science.
Completed
applications must be postmarked no later than April 1.
The winner will be notified by May 31.
