West Group KeyCite Named Recipient of 1999 New Product Award

The recipient of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) 1999 New Product Award is West Group's KeyCite, available at http://www.keycite.com. KeyCite was praised by committee members for " depth of coverage, currentness, and the ease of use in conjunction with the many features of Keycite". Its many innovative features make it possible to quickly and easily check a case's reliability and determine its treatment by later courts. Its depth of treatment codes, and multiple options for displaying the history of the case increase its usefulness. Creating a new citator is a monumental task, and West has produced a gem.

The New Product Award recognizes a new legal information product which enhances or improves existing law library services or procedures. The award honors the development of innovative products which improve access to legal information, the legal research process, or procedures for technical processing of library materials. A product is 'new' if it has been in the library-related marketplace for less than two years.

The American Association of Law Libraries was founded in 1906 to promote and enhance the value of law libraries to the legal and public communities, to foster the profession of librarianship, and to provide leadership in the field of legal information.
