Boot
Camp for Teachers of Electronic Research
Come to this AALL Professional Development workshop to learn the dynamics of energetic
teaching and how to identify individual learning styles. Then learn to apply these
techniques to the teaching of electronic research. Boot Camp for Teachers of Electronic
Research has a strong interactive component, using question-and-answer sessions,
demonstrations, role-playing, and student contributions.
The program will cover both basic and advanced strategies in teaching electronic
research to a wide variety of end-users. Fundamental instructional methods will be
covered, as well as advanced presentation skills.
Participants will learn to:
- Access the learning style of your audience members and tailor instructional programs to
each member
- Establish realistic training goals for various audiences
- Evaluate which electronic resources are best to use for each project
- Develop an instructional program and supporting materials
- Present general criteria for electronic research clearly and simply
- Evaluate the effectiveness of their training sessions
- Work with assistants in developing and giving presentations
