Copyright in the New Millennium:
The Impact of Recent Changes to U.S. Copyright Law

This satellite teleconference on the digital millennium copyright act is being co-sponsored by the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), American Library Association, Association of Research Libraries, Medical Library Association and Special Libraries Association. This three hour long session will be held on Friday, May 21st, from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Changes to copyright law enacted in the 150th Congress have significant implications for libraries. Portions of the DMCA contain detailed regulations for online service providers that must be followed to obtain protection from liability for infringement. Online Service providers must register with the Copyright Office and educational institutions are required to educate their communities about copyright law and compliance.

The teleconference, Copyright in the New Millennium, hosts a panel of experts. They will describe the new laws and discuss implications for organizations as they strive to comply with the new laws.
