Good morning,
Georgia has recommended the Law Library Systems Directory, which is
updated with some frequency, and includes law firms. This is a useful
tool.
I personally use two great websites:
www.ilsr.com
www.libraryhq.com
Both sites include: 1) vendor info, 2) RFP info including sample RFPs,
3) technology plans, 4) links, 5) articles and white papers, and 6)
press releases. The information is valuable, timely and relevant to all
sizes of libraries, including smaller firms. By the way, Kathie, my
last position was in a mid-sized law firm, and I utilized these
resources during my planning process.
Does anyone have other web sites they found particularly useful? What
about journals or periodicals? Certain conferences or vendor shows?
Accessing OPACs of law libraries who utilize the software in which you
might be interested is another useful tool. Don't be afraid to call the
library and ask questions. When we did this at our library, we usually
found the librarians to be more than willing to help out.
Jean
