Dear Madeline and others:

I hope I did not mislead you when I said that I sometimes forward =
letters to our clinics. In general, the clients that the clinics take on =
must be referred by a court, although we do have special programs like =
Project for Older Prisoners (POPS) which take direct requests. However, =
I do often get guidance from our clinics in dealing with requests that =
are beyond our scope.=20

Also, I forgot to mention that in general I do not fulfill requests from =
out-of-state prisoners, since I figure that they should be the =
responsibility of a nearer library. I do respond to such letters, =
though, and let them know our policy. And I make exceptions if the =
prisoners needs something Louisiana related.

Katie

I am interested in finding out more about law schools with clinics
providing pro bono services to prisoners. Does your law school have =
such a
clinic or clinics?
