Getting Ready for Seattle
Transportation: The Local Arrangements Committee has put together a handy
survival guide with great tips for getting to and around the city. The guide includes
airport ground transportation options, including taxi, shuttle, and public transportation to and from Boston’s Logan Airport.
Weather and Dress: Summertime
weather in Boston is generally warm, sunny, and humid with average July highs of 82 degrees and lows of 65 degrees. Recommended dress for the conference is business casual. Remember that meeting room temperatures and personal comfort ranges vary widely, so you may want to bring a sweater or jacket.
Safety and Services: AALL and the Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau want you to have a safe visit during your stay in this amazing city and offer
safety tips to ensure that you have the best experience possible. There’s also a handy list of
services near the convention center, from locating the nearest ATM to finding a dentist.
Dining and Entertainment: Visit the
Local Arrangements Committee’s welcome site for local information and suggestions to help you get the most out of your time in Boston. Print their extensive
restaurant guide for local dining options, or the
Quick Eats version, for lunch alternatives close to the convention center (included in your registration bag onsite). Did you know it’s
food truck season? The committee invites you to enjoy a meal with your colleagues on Saturday, July 21, by signing up for a
dine-around after the
Opening Reception in the Exhibit Hall.
