Legal Information Services to the Public

Special Interest Section

The mission of our special interest section, Legal Information Services to the Public Special Interest Section (LISP) is to improve access to legal information and to promote legal information services to the public.

LISP promotes and encourages its members to provide research assistance and training, either through local AALL chapters or individually by its members. LISP publishes a reference brochure, "How to Research a Legal Problem: A Guide for Non-Lawyers," and the Public Library Toolkit. LISP awards the Kathy Garner Grant to provide AALL members with financial assistance to attend the AALL annual meeting. LISP also is charged with representing its members' interests and concerns within AALL.
