Newsletter Advisory Committee |
DESCRIPTION
The
Committee is responsible for the creation and approval of general policies
relating to the content, advertising, budget, and production of the
Newsletter. The Committee shall also address issues which may be referred to
it, from time to time, by the PLL Executive Committee. The Newsletter editor
shall have final discretion for specific content, form, and style of all
items in the Newsletter.
The
Committee with be comprised of seven members, including the current editor of
PLL Perspectives. The editor's position is unique in that he/she will
be in a position to provide critical input to the Committee because of
his/her knowledge of the day to day operation of the Newsletter. To avoid
potential conflict of interest, the editor will not be eligible to chair the
Newsletter Advisory Committee. Each member, with the exception of the editor,
will be appointed to serve a two year term. The Chair of the Committee will
be named by the incoming PLL Chair. The editor will serve on the Committee
during his/her tenure as editor of PLL Perspectives.
During the
first year of operation, 1996-1997, two members each shall be named to one,
two, and three year terms. This will assure depth and continuity for the
committee. Beginning in 1997, two members will be named to serve a three year
term.
HISTORY
This
committee was created in 1996 in support of PLL Perspectives.
