Join us at the TS-SIS Education Committee Meeting
Monday, July 27, 2009, noon-1:15 p.m.
Washington Convention Center, Room 148
Overview
Now is the time to plan for AALL in 2010 due to the short time-frame for submitting program ideas after the 2009 Annual meeting. We have abundant flexibility to propose learning opportunities that are important to us, but we need your ideas and proposals! If you would like TS-SIS to consider sponsoring your program, please read on...
Theme
The theme for the Denver meeting, Summit 2010: Mapping Our Future, evokes all sorts of program possibilities. One little idea can inspire us to reach new heights as we plan, chart and build a brighter future! See incoming AALL President Catherine Lemann's description for more information. Also, Steve Anderson, 2010 AMPC Chair, describes some of what the AMPC would like to see for programs in Denver.
Deadline if Requesting TS-SIS Sponsorship
Final deadline for submitting your program, workshop or topic to the TS-SIS Education Committee is Monday, August 10, 2009, 5:00 pm PDT.
Process
All TS-SIS Education Committee members are available to assist you. We are open to collaborating with other SIS's or committees. Please don't limit your presentation to the traditional three talking-head panels. Page 18 in the Handbook includes several alternative presentation formats (see link below).
- Refer to the Program Planners Handbook (1.4 MB PDF) for more information.
- Beginning on p. 34 of the Handbook are step-by-step guidelines for using the online web site to create your proposal.
- You do not need to complete your proposal in one session. You can save your work in progress and log back in as many times as needed to complete your proposal.
- If you are seeking TS-SIS sponsorship, identify TS-SIS as the sponsor (or co-sponsor).
- When you have completed (but NOT submitted) your proposal, click on the "Share" button and enter Carol Nicholson's e-mail address: Carol_Nicholson@unc.edu as one of the recipients. Your proposal will then be automatically sent to Carol Nicholson, who will forward it to the TS-SIS Education Committee to review.
- IMPORTANT: Do not click on the "Submit Proposal" button until you have heard from the TS-SIS Education Committee. If you click on the "Submit Proposal" button, the proposal goes directly to AMPC and you will no longer be able to revise it.
When will TS-SIS notify people about sponsorship?
We will notify everyone who has submitted a proposal to TS-SIS no later than Thursday, August 20, 2009 as to whether we will sponsor your program. Individuals may also choose to submit programs directly to AMPC without our sponsorship. The deadline for submitting program proposals to AMPC is August 23, 2009.
Please plan to attend the TS-SIS Education Committee meeting, Monday, July 27, 2009, 12:00 -1:15 pm, in the Washington Convention Center, Room 148.
We look forward to working with you!
