The Elmer L. Anderson Library is a recently completed state-of-the-art facility, which houses several University of Minnesota special collections and a resource-sharing service for 228 state and regional libraries. The Reception will feature periodic tours of the library's two storage caverns on the banks of the Mississippi River, mined at 80 feet below grade and each the length of two football fields. Guests also will be able to view an exhibit from the Sherlock Holmes Collection of the University of Minnesota Library, the world's largest collection of materials related to the famous detective and his creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The Anderson Library is located adjacent to the University of Minnesota Law School on the West Bank of the Mississippi River.
