As an academic librarian, have you ever struggled with the issues of status, rank, tenure, benefits, or even everyday respect? Many institutions have well-established policies that recognize the value of librarians. Knowledge of such policies may aid other librarians who are struggling with these issues. Every institution is different and must establish and maintain policies for librarians that are appropriate for them. Librarians who have "fought the battle" or have garnered professional respect within their universities may be able to aid others with strategy or simply moral support.
Please attend the roundtable discussion at the annual AALL meeting in Philadelphia on Monday, July 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The discussion will focus on what course ALL-SIS should take to promote and advocate the value of academic law librarians as we face issues dealing with status, rank, tenure, and benefits.
