FCIL SIS CANDIDATE'S BIO 2002


Jean M. Wenger is the Foreign & International/Government Documents Law Librarian at the Cook County Law Library in Chicago. She was appointed Chief Foreign and International Law Librarian in 1993. In 1995, she moved to the Cornell Law Library where she was the Reference Librarian focusing on foreign and international law, and lectured on European Union research. At Cornell she created annotated foreign and international web guides, and was the research liaison for the Cornell International Law Journal. She returned to the Cook County Law Library in 1997 as Foreign & International/Government Documents Law Librarian. Jean has authored a number of web-based research guides and has presented foreign and international programs at AALL and regional meetings. She is the author of the International Economic Law chapter of the ASIL Guide to Electronic Resources for International Law (ERG) and International Commercial Arbitration: Locating the Resources (LLRX.com). From 1995-1998, she served on the Editorial Advisory Committee for the Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals. Jean earned her B.A. from St. Mary's of Minnesota, J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, and M.L.I.S. from Rosary College. Before entering law school, she worked as a foreign banknote trader in Chicago. She has studied in Italy, Germany, and Wales.
