Class Stem: Book Numbers

Some series designations identify that a publication comes from a particular sub-agency. For example:
 
C 55. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
C 55.300sNational Marine Fisheries Service
.301:Annual report of National Marine Fisheries Service
.302:General Publications of National Marine Fisheries Service
...and so on
Some series are annual (the last three digits of the year are used for the book number). For example,
 
A 1.1:998Annual Report of the Secretary of Agriculture for 1998
