COMMITTEE CHAIRS, 2006-2007
Charge: Develop guidelines and procedures for a grant. Solicit and review applications and select a grant recipient.
Legal Research Teach-In
Charge: Solicit content, and administer the creation, marketing, and distribution, of Legal Research Teach In kits (compiled legal research instructional materials) annually.
Charge: Create the RIPS newsletter three times per year. Solicit content, lay it out, and submit it to the RIPS webmaster for posting, and notify members and the Council of Newsletter Editors of its availability.
Online List Discussion
Charge: Administer and moderate the RIPS email distribution list through the Discussion Forum utility on AALLnet.
Charge: Develop tools, publications, and programs of use to
circulation and interlibrary loan librarians. Select topics and
moderators for roundtables at the Annual Meeting.
Charge: Assist RIPS members with program and workshop proposals for Annual Meeting educational programs. Solicit topics relevant to RIPS members, assist in developing and refining proposals, and facilitate the proposal process in general.
Public Relations and Recruitment
Charge: Publicize the projects and activities of the SIS by sending periodic notices to the AALL Spectrum and other AALL-affiliated publications. Recruit new members by coordinating representation at CONELL, and manage marketing displays and giveaways at our SIS table in the exhibit hall at the Annual Meeting.
Charge: Develop tools, publications, and programs of use to librarians involved in research instruction. Select topics and moderators for roundtables at the Annual Meeting.
Charge: Maintain and develop the RIPS web page. Solicit suggestions and additions from the Board, Committees, and membership from time to time.
