Election of TS-SIS Executive Board Officers

TS-SIS held the election of Executive Board Officers for 2009-2010 via AALL’s electronic ballot system from April 27-May 14, 2009. There were 209 ballots submitted, making for a 30% participation rate. The new elected officers are:

Financial Status

When this report was submitted, our latest available AALL financial statement was dated March 31, 2009. Since TS-SIS finances have been increasing over the past few years and this year has been challenging economically for our members, the TS-SIS Executive Board decided to give back to the membership as much as we could. The TS-SIS Executive Board increased the dollars available for Educational Grant Awards for the Annual Conference and decided to continue to provide the same level of food and beverage service at the Annual Conference as has been done in the past (despite the significantly higher food/catering costs in DC). These decisions may lead to TS-SIS showing a net loss in this year’s finances. Overall, our balance will still be quite strong, leaving TS-SIS in a good position to weather continued economic uncertainty.
