The Task Group on Vendor-Supplied Bibliographic Records

  1. Develops guidelines for vendors to assist them in following PCC's MARC Record Guide for Monograph Aggregator Vendors (165 KB PDF).
  2. Offers to assist vendors who wish to produce cataloging metadata, by a) encouraging them to provide sample bibliographic records for evaluation; b) assist vendors in preparation of specifications for contract cataloging; c) recommend changes and revisions as appropriate (list illustrative, not prescriptive).
  3. Develops ways to encourage vendors to make arrangements with authority control vendors, e.g. MARCIVE, to supply current authority data for the cataloging produced.
  4. Develops and disseminates evaluations/reviews of the cataloging data to TS-SIS members.
