The Task Group on Vendor-Supplied Bibliographic Records
- Develops guidelines for vendors to assist them in following PCC's MARC Record Guide for Monograph Aggregator Vendors (165 KB PDF).
- Offers to assist vendors who wish to produce cataloging metadata, by a) encouraging them to provide sample bibliographic records for evaluation; b) assist vendors in preparation of specifications for contract cataloging; c) recommend changes and revisions as appropriate (list illustrative, not prescriptive).
- Develops ways to encourage vendors to make arrangements with authority control vendors, e.g. MARCIVE, to supply current authority data for the cataloging produced.
- Develops and disseminates evaluations/reviews of the cataloging data to TS-SIS members.
The Task Group's wiki is publicly viewable, but only Task Group members may edit the content.
