The AALL Awards Committee has selected Lee R. Nemchek, information resource manager at Morrison & Foerster, LLP, in Los Angeles, as the 2002 recipient of the Law Library Journal Article of the Year Award.

Nemchek's article, "Records Retention in the Private Legal Environment: Annotated Bibliography and Program Implementation Tools," (93 Law Library Journal 7, 2001) provides a reference foundation for librarians seeking to understand the complex area of records retention as it has become increasingly applicable in the private legal environment.

Established in 1989, this award recognizes outstanding achievement in research and scholarship as represented by a published work in Law Library Journal. A cash prize of $500, donated by CCH Incorporated, accompanies the award.

The award will be presented July 22 at the Association Annual Awards Ceremony and Reception for Recipients and Contributors during the 95th Annual Meeting and Conference in Orlando, Fla.
