Digitization & Educational Technology SIS

The Digitization and Educational Technology Special Interest Section (formerly known as Micrographics/Audio-Visual)  focuses on three core areas:

  1. Presentation using educational technology (e.g., using images in PowerPoint)
  2. Preservation of materials through digitization
  3. Production using educational technology (e.g., making a movie or videotaping presenters)

Though some of our members are experts in one or more of the above areas, you don't need to be an expert to join.  In fact, one of our strengths is educating DET-SIS members as well as other members of AALL in those areas.  If you have any interest in any of the three above areas, DET-SIS membership is for you.

Our list of past programs on the history page can give you a better idea of what is included in each of the three core interests.

For the 2018 AALL Annual Meeting & Conference in Baltimore, DET-SIS will be presenting "Biological Evidence for the Effective Use of Educational Technology" on Tuesday, July 17 from 8:30 AM-9:30 AM in BCC room 323. The DET-SIS Business Meeting will occur on Sunday, July 15 from 12:45 PM-1:45 PM in the Hilton Carroll B. The DET-SIS Educational Technology Roundtable will occur on Monday, July 16 from 3:30 PM-4:30 PM in the Hilton Blake.
