DESCRIPTION


After the U.S. News & World Report announced they would create a ranking of US Law Schools based on scholarship using HeinOnline statistics there has been a huge outpouring of interest in scholarship metrics. What are the nuances involved? Is your library helping in this arena? This webinar will address potential roadblocks and identify best practices to improve metadata accuracy, focusing on proactive engagement with Hein and law faculty.

You will learn:
• Roadblocks and pitfalls involved with scholarly metrics
• Best practices and recommendations in metadata accuracy and rankings preparation

Brian R. Huffman
University of Hawaii Law Library
Brian R. Huffman, JD, MLIS, is the Electronic Services Librarian at the University of Hawaii Law Library. He has published and presented on topics including digital self-publishing and open educational resources. His duties include managing library database accounts, coordinating and marketing the law library's e-resources, website, LibGuides, archival collection, and digital institutional repositories in addition to teaching advanced legal research and a series of legal technology workshops. He received his JD from Drake University Law School and his MLIS from Saint Catherine University. Brian’s two big pastimes are bicycling and baking scones.
