What makes an institution equitable, and what can middle managers do to incorporate equity into their work? This program follows up on “Creating Belonging” from the 2022 Annual Meeting to discuss equity in depth. An equity-centered approach to management asks us to consider systemic barriers and their legacies, and intentionally reflect on how our institution’s policies, and our approach to management, are impacted by those barriers and legacies. The program will begin with a panel discussion about the concept of equity and the relationship between diversity, equity, and inclusion. The panelists will also discuss how issues of equity arise in middle management and provide a framework for an equity-based approach. Participants will then have an opportunity to apply this framework to a law library-focused case study. This event is brought to you by the Leadership Development Committee.
