Why did you join AALL?

I presumed AALL would help me hone my librarian skills and enable myself to network with other librarians.

Why do you stay a member?

Because I was correct in that assumption. I’ve met so many nice and learned people over the years……

What one membership benefit is most valuable to you?

I think it’s being part of a community of people who understand my day to day work life.

What is your favorite memory associated with AALL?

When I was a newish librarian I went to the Annual Meeting in Washington DC and was able to go on a private tour of the Supreme Court Library.  It was amazing and I was very much in awe.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Gardening, reading, traveling, combing through junky antique stores (I collect old bottles), walking the dog, watching anime with my daughters and having a kitty on my lap.

What book(s) are you currently reading?

Margaret Atwood’s The Heart Goes Last.

What’s your favorite travel/vacation destination?

Anywhere I can visit museums, eat good food, drink good coffee, walk, enjoy the scenery, and not have to drive.
