Terry on why information sharing is priceless

AALL member Terry Psarras

Terry Psarras is the Manager of Legal Information & Technology Training at Carlton Fields in Tampa, Florida.

Why did you join AALL?

I joined initially because the firm librarian I was working under at the time, suggested I do so.

Why do you stay a member?

Ability to share in the library community, staying abreast of new developments, and access to knowledge I would not otherwise have.

What one membership benefit is most valuable to you?

Professional and personal relationships developed with other librarians over the years.  The ability to get information from others in similar situations is priceless.  Even the sense and understanding that others are dealing with the same issues as you-even if no solution is available-is often very useful, emotionally and professionally.

What is your favorite memory associated with AALL?

David Pogue’s speech in Portland.  I have been a fan of his for years, and seeing him in person was incredible.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Long distance running and soccer refereeing.

What book(s) are you currently reading?

Live from New York, by James Arthur Miller

What’s your favorite travel/vacation destination?

Greece, Hawaii, and DisneyWorld.
