How would your library weather a fire, flood, riot, or other catastrophe? Do you have a disaster plan notebook gathering dust on a shelf? While no one wants to think about disasters, all organizations need to prepare for the worst with a specific plan for disaster response and recovery. A preservation services librarian, a conservator, and a librarian with experience facing disaster will discuss the basics of creating a disaster plan and how a plan works in practice. Every organization faces the possibility of a disaster, and thoughtful and focused planning makes it easier to recover when the unthinkable happens.
