Happy New Year!

As we begin the New Year it's not too early to start thinking about this year's Annual Meeting. July will be here before you know it. As the theme indicates, "Rise to the Challenge", I challenge each chapter to have a representative attend our Chapter Leadership training, which begins on Saturday, July 14, 2007. Chapter Presidents and Vice-Presidents are encouraged to attend the day of leadership training, including the Joint Chapter Council and SIS Council Luncheon. This years training will include program development, membership recruitment, and public relations, just to name a few. The day will conclude with the annual Chapter Council Business Meeting. In addition to our day of leadership training, several one hour Chapter Leadership Roundtables will occur throughout the annual meeting. Please save the dates and encourage your newly elected chapter officers to attend these sessions. New Orleans is waiting for!

Annual Meeting Registration Awards

Ten chapter presidents will soon receive information from AALL headquarters about the Annual Meeting Registration Awards. The awards are given out on a rotating basis and provide an opportunity for a newer member to attend an Annual Meeting. The eligible chapters for the 2007 Annual Meeting & Conference are: ORALL, MichALL, LLAW, MALL, VALL, SFALL, ALLA, CALL, LLAA, NOALL, and SANDALL. Please look for these letters in the mail.

Annual Meeting Activities Area Space Reservation

Information has also been sent out about reserving space in the Exhibit Hall for the Activites Area. Please fill out the form and return it to Heidi Letzmann at headquarters by April 16, 2007 if you are interested in participating.

Chapter Bylaws

Please remember when making changes to your chapter bylaws that they must be approved by the AALL Bylaw committee and should not conflict with the bylaws of AALL. For bylaw questions please contact Christopher Knott, Bylaws Chair, at
