AALL Spring Executive Board Meeting

If your Chapter plans to submit an agenda item to the AALL Executive Board for the upcoming meeting on April 17th and 18th, the deadline for agenda item submissions is March 6, 2009. Please contact me for further assistance and instruction regarding agenda items.

Council Chair for 2009-2010

We are fortunate to have four terrific nominees for Council Chair of Chapter Presidents:

Watch for a separate email announcement where ballots will be sent electronically to Council members (one vote per Chapter).

AALL Annual Meeting Activities Area

Remember that the deadline for Chapters to reserve space in the 2009 AALL Annual meeting Activities Area is April 15th. If you did not receive your Activities Area reservation form, please let me know.

Chapter Leadership Training

Don’t forget to block off Saturday, July 11th in your busy schedules for the Chapter Leadership programs at the 2009 AALL meeting in beautiful Washington, D.C. The presidents and vice presidents of each chapter will be invited to participate in this day of a leadership and chapter planning. Roundtables on government relations, meeting management, and treasurer training will also be held at later dates during the meeting.

Chapter Visit Survey Reminder

You received an email last week with a link to the AALL Chapter Visit Survey. Please take a moment, if you haven’t already, to complete the survey. The deadline for completion is March 19th.

AALL Chapter VIP

Considering sending a Chapter VIP to the AALL 2009 Annual Meeting? The deadline for registering a Chapter VIP for the AALL meeting in D.C. is May 1. Information, instructions and the registration forms can be found on AALLNET.

Saving Money with AALL

AALL has reached out to help their membership save money in these difficult economic times. AALL is offering a $50 AALL Member Appreciation Discount for the 2009 Annual Meeting and Conference to all members who register for the 2009 Annual Meeting and Conference in Washington, D.C., by March 31st. This $50 discount is off the already reduced early registration rate. So, if you register by March 31st, you save up to $150! Registration will open February 26th.

AALL Grants

Be sure your Chapter members know that grants are available to provide financial assistance for AALL members attending the AALL Annual Meeting/Workshop Grant. The deadline for submitting grant applications is April 1st. This is the first year with two separate application categories: Experienced Members and Student/New Members. More information can be found about the AALL grants on AALLNET.

AALL Webinar in March

Next month Chapter members (AALL membership NOT required) can register for the March AALL Webinar: Guided Tour of Your AALL Membership. Your Association has many membership benefits, services, and opportunities for you to explore. This free Webinar on March 17th, from 12-1 p.m. EST, with help you navigate the landscape, learn how to make the most out of your membership, and introduce you to new members like yourself. Get a jump start and join us on a guided tour of your membership. Register online by March 13th.
