Chapter Bylaws

On February 3, Deborah Rusin, AALL Secretary, announced that the changes proposed to the AALL Bylaws amendment Article III: Antidiscrimination had been approved by the AALL membership. Chapters are required to make sure their Bylaws contain the antidiscrimination language as required by AALL Bylaws Article XI, Section 4.

Each Chapter should review their Bylaws on a regular basis as a matter of good governance. If amendments are needed, the proposed language should be sent to the AALL Bylaws & Resolutions Committee before adoption by the Chapter's membership. The AALL Bylaws & Resolutions Committee can be very helpful to Chapters in recommending changes and suggesting appropriate language for proposed amendments. If you are planning a Bylaws change and do not know where to start, AALL has helpful information here.
