AALL Annual Meeting Chapter VIP Program
The Chapter VIP Program provides each Chapter the opportunity to invite individuals from related fields, who are not AALL members, to take part in our Association's premier educational event. In the past, Chapter VIP guests have included law professors, library school faculty, judges, practicing attorneys, government officials and members of the news media.
Each Chapter is allowed to invite up to two guests to attend the Annual Meeting for which AALL will provide complimentary registration, which includes admission to programs, the Exhibit Hall, and one ticket to the Opening Reception. All Chapter VIPs are also invited to attend the Opening General Session on Sunday, July 13 from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.
Your Chapter will be responsible for the transportation, lodging and hosting of these guests. Additional information about how your Chapter can participate is included on AALLNET.
Please make sure to complete the Chapter VIP information form as well as an AALL registration form. Annual Meeting Leadership Training and Luncheon
Incoming Chapter Presidents and Vice Presidents are invited to attend the Annual Meeting Leadership Training and Luncheon in San Antonio on Saturday, July 12th from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the Leadership Luncheon from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Invitations for these two events have already been sent to each incoming Chapter President so that both they and their incoming Chapter Vice Presidents can RSVP to attend if they will be in San Antonio this year.
This year there will be a breakout session from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for Chapter Leaders only with Barbara Dunn from Barnes & Thornburg to discuss legal issues unique to running an Association. Topics will include:
Tax-exempt status legal requirements
Copyright/licensing of content, etc.
Antitrust and Associations.

Annual Meeting Forms
All annual meeting forms are due in May. Only a few days remain to submit your Meeting Scheduling Forms to ensure event listing in Conference Program. Food and beverage order forms are due May 15.
Submit Resolutions and Questions for the Business Meeting and Members Open Forum
The AALL General Business Meeting will be held July 14 at 4 p.m. during the Annual Meeting in San Antonio. It will be followed immediately by the Members Open Forum, which will adjourn no later than 5:15 p.m. Any member or Chapter who wishes to submit a resolution for consideration by the membership at the Business Meeting must do so by June 23. Any AALL entity, or member can submit a resolution for consideration.
During the Members Open Forum, AALL President Steve Anderson and other officers will be available to respond to member questions regarding AALL and its programs and activities. In addition to asking questions from the floor, members can also submit questions in advance of the meeting. To submit a question in advance for this year's Open Forum, email email@example.com.
Chapter elections are in full swing! As part of a smooth transition it is important to keep the listserv and Chapter rosters on AALLNET current. Please review your chapter's roster as it appears here and let me know if anyone should be added or deleted for your chapter. Chapter listserv (c-chpr) messages go to President, Vice President/President-Elect and Past President. You can let me know if any changes need to be made to the listerv via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
