Judy Meadows, President

Michael Saint-Onge, Librarian of Northern California Offices, Coudert Brothers

  • In recognition of the Annual Meeting Program Selection Committee's significant enhancements to AALL, a premiere educational event. The committee's ability and willingness to think outside the box and its creation of tools that are now available for speakers and program planners will assist the Association for years to come.

Kay Todd, Senior Legal Researcher, Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker LLP
Jean Holcomb, Law Librarian and Director, King County Law Library

  • Someone said that 'the world is a better place because of those that refuse to believe they cannot fly." Kay and Jean are the first chairs of AALL's Professional Development Committee. And they have demonstrated their ability and our ability to fly. The committee has laid the groundwork for educational programming that will reach all of our members, extending throughout the year and throughout the country the offerings of the Association.

Tim Coggins, Director & Associate Professor of Law, University of Richmond School of Law Library
Michele Finerty, Technical Services Librarian, Orange County Law Library

  • AALL's Strategic plan has the following challenge: "To provide leadership to shape the legal information environment at a time of rapidly changing technology and public policy changes." The Working Group has taken this challenge and applied it in amazingly creative and helpful ways. It has established itself and the American Association of law Libraries as the expert on government use of technology by creating a Web site that is providing this expertise and guidance to state and federal information providers in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. The Working Group exemplifies the role AALL can and should play as the information expert in the legal environment.

Bill Lindberg, Minneapolis, Minnesota

  • For his active and important role as an associate member of AALL for over twenty years. His contributions to our profession far surpass the role he was bound to play for the West Publishing Company. He consistently made it his business to understand the issues and challendges faced by law librarians in the 1980s and 1990s. He did this because of his genuine respect and support for the profession and members of AALL.
