Oil and gas are natural resources that constitute a common ground in Texas and some African countries like Nigeria. This session will introduce participants to the role of natural resources in both jurisdictions. Participants will identify the key stakeholders (i.e., multinational corporations and governments), as well as challenges and developments facing the energy sector. The discussion will focus on compliance with local laws and international treaties, especially in the areas of human rights and corporate accountability.
