Sarah Lin Receives FROG Grant
Sarah Lin is the Library Systems Librarian at Reed Smith LLP in San Francisco, California. Her project is titled "Northern California Law Library Acquisitions/Deselection Partnership."
Sarah, responding to a need vocalized at the 2016 Northern California Association of Law Libraries (NOCALL) Spring Institute, proposes to investigate a potential partnership between California law school libraries' de-accessioned materials and the possible fulfillment of acquisition needs for Northern California county law libraries. If the investigation proves viable, Sarah will create a web interface whereby Northern California libraries can connect and arrange a materials distribution. Upon completion of this project Sarah will write about her experience and offer any insights to those who may want to initiate a similar exchange program. For this project FROG awards Sarah Lin the full grant amount of $1000.
Since 1997 TS-SIS has joined with OBS-SIS to provide funding for grants for law librarians to perform research on topics that will enhance technical services law librarianship. The FROG Committee is comprised of six members: the chair, a representative-at-large, two representatives from TS-SIS, and two representatives from OBS-SIS. Each representative serves for two years. The committee name was changed in 2015 from OBS-SIS/TS-SIS Joint Research Grant Committee to FROG (Funding Research Opportunities Grant) Committee.
See the TS-SIS Handbook for more information about the committee.
See the OBS-SIS website for more information about the Grant.
