The Technical Services Special Interest Section is pleased to announce that the 2001 Renee D. Chapman Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions in Technical Services Law Librarianship goes to Regina Wallen, Assistant Director for Technical Services, Robert Crown Law Library, Stanford University.
Reggie has contributed quietly and effectively to the Technical Services Special Interest Section and to law technical services in general for many years. She served on TS SIS Boards as a member-at-large and as secretary/treasurer. She was the liaison to ALA’s Committee on Cataloging: Access and Control. She has been a co-editor and columnist of the column on classification in the Technical Services Law Librarian. She served on the faculty of two AALL cataloging institutes, frequently has been a speaker during the AALL annual meetings and was a member of the 2000 AALL annual meeting planning committee. She was closely involved with the Library of Congress^s switch to generic form division tables, published in 1999. In all cases, she has been an exceptional example of the extended and sustained distinguished service this award recognizes.
The Renee D. Chapman Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions in Technical Services Law Librarianship is presented at the annual meeting of the American Association of Law Libraries. It is given to an individual or group in recognition of achievement in an area of technical services, for services to the Association, or for outstanding contributions to the professional literature.
The award will be made at the Technical Services SIS business meeting, Sunday July 15, 2001. Please join with the SIS in honoring Regina Wallen.
